We are so glad to be back and get back in the groove of things. Spiffy and I hope you all had an amazing Thanks Giving holiday with family and friends. Both of us were fortunate enough to be able to go to DC and visit Spiffy’s side of the family, which was quite wonderful. The road trip getting there was fun in itself, we decided to take the back roads in order to take detours throughout the states we drove through. I know I know, who would to a thing like that and make a drive longer than needed. But to be perfectly honest, a road trip isn’t a road trip without getting to see all the beautiful scenery like we did along the way. I mean really, it was that or being on a highway pretty much the entire way with seeing nothing but the roads and cars flying past you. One of the stops we made along the way was in Pennsylvania which by the way has phenomenal backdrops of the mountains. The landscape was like no other, even the grocery store Wegmans was sight to see in itself.
Anyway, during our stay in DC, we spent much time simply gathering around and exploring parts of the city such as touring the Capital as well as the Pentagon. Oh boy, the history and artifacts the two showcase are exquisite. The depth of history to be seen and learn was a highlight of our trip. Thanks Giving itself was a day we were all so very grateful for. Much food was cooked along with the ginormous turkey of course, you can’t forget about that ha. We gave many thanks as we prayed around the candlelit dining room table and ate up a storm. Everyone probably got up from the dinner table being five pounds heavier.
Nothing is better than being able to be with loved ones during the holidays. If we could have it our way, we would visit all the family we possibly could on both sides if time and travel weren’t the case. I know there are those out there that either do not have family or could not be with family over the holiday. So, we are just simple grateful to have been able to visit the ones we did.
We’ll end it on this note:
